Chua Chun Leng, Founder of King George’s Music Academy

Chua Chun Leng is a musician and the owner of King George's Music Academy, for whom music is the serenity of heart, melody of soul and symphony of life. Born and raised in Singapore, Chun Leng has an innate passion for music and has been inclined towards it from a very young age. Pursuing his life-long love of music for more than a decade now, Chun Leng has eventually mastered the art of creating timeless, heartfelt beats with his earnest devotion. For him, playing a wrong beat is trivial but playing without passion is unforgivable. He believes in creating music that unveils the heart, sings out the prayer, dances the spirit and opens the soul.

“a teacher who goes beyond teaching drums”

Influenced by all kinds of music, Chun Leng has specialized in playing drums with all his heart and soul but is always eclectic and curious for exploring new genres and diving deep into the music world. He has the honour of Playing with Donnie Chan and Vanessa Voon in J bar from 2017 to 2018, playing with Wang Lei on his online Getai shows in 2020 and playing drums for a number of other local singers as well. He has been featured on Drummer.co, a local drum community, local broadcast TV, on Channel 5 and Channel News Asia, where he has taught a blind girl named Nurul how to overcome her blindness and play the drums. He also has the prestigious Singapore Chinese Chamber of Commerce and Industry award for attending the SAF Day Celebration on his credit.

Apart from composing delightful beats, Chun Leng loves to help aspiring artists become the best versions of themselves. He is a firm believer that every child has music in him but needs a little push and someone to believe in his craft. So it just takes the right teacher to discover his talent and nurture it to help him pursue his passion. Out of his love for cultivating such talent, Chun Leng found King George's Music Academy in 2015. With more than 10 years of profound experience in teaching drums, Chun Leng meticulously curates the drumming syllabus and trains students as well as teachers in his music school by utilizing his diverse methodologies and unique concepts. There is no more feeling as euphoric for him as to help budding artists achieve their dreams and beautify the world with one beat at a time.
