FAQ

Do I have to start from Initial Drum Lessons If I had Learnt some drumming before?

It depends. If you have already learned all that an initial student knows, you will be put in the beginner lesson immediately. Students that were learning from other schools will be put through a series of assessment to ensure that they have not missed out on any essential learning.

Can I learn Drums if I do not have Drums at home?

Absolutely yes! Most drummers, with or without a drumset at home, develop Visualization Technique over time. Visualization Technique involves drummers imagining a drumset in front of them and imagine the sounds of the drums as they pretend to strike. Visualization learning plays a huge role in helping drum students improve in their playing. Mastering this multisensory learning ability helps to improve critical thinking and can potentially improve Academic Achievement.

Is drumming hard?

Drumming taps on every individual innate sense of time.  If you are tapping along with the music when you're listening to it, chances are, you already have the natural sense of time. This can make learning drums a lot easier.

Drumming is difficult at the beginning because it takes a while to get used to the hand leg coordination. After you have mastered the basic coordination, it should get easier as you learn.

Am I too old to learn drums?

If your goal is to become the best drummer in the world then probably, Yes. Jokes aside, some of our best students are the older ones because of their sheer discipline and hard work, they advance faster than many students.

Drumming relies on your existing muscle memory and coordination. If you have ever played sports and games that require a lot of wrist movement, there is a good chance that you will find drumming easy.

What is the youngest age to start learning drums?

Some of the best drummers start at 2 years old but a good starting age is hard to determine because children mature at a different pace. If your child is younger than 4 years old, you may bring your child for a free trial class to let us assess his/her learning capacity. Early access to music lessons is good because they get to build on their basic techniques earlier and we will work with them through progressive exercises we developed. Setting the proper techniques early helps to prevent them from developing bad habits in their drumming.
